Dar es salaam
Dar es Salaam, formerly Mzizima, is the largest city, economic
centre and former capital of Tanzania. It is located on a bay of
the Indian Ocean. The city itself is an eclectic mix of Swahili,
German, Asian and British architecture, reflecting its colonial
past and more recent history. With picturesque harbour, exotic
beaches, a vibrant nightlife and interesting historical
buildings, Dar es salaam is one of the most pleasant cities in
Africa. The best thing about Dar, is that it is the genuine
African atmosphere, which is quite different from for instance
Cape Town and other big cities in South Africa. A lot of small
and big hotels have been built in the city centre, on the beach
areas and, in the more posh suburbs, some seemingly luxurious
hotels had grown up, a sign of the positive tourism development
in Tanzania. Click here for Dar es salaam Hotels.....

Mafia Island
Mafia is approximately 30 miles off the Tanzanian coast, about
45 minutes by air from Dar es Salaam and one hour from the
Selous Game Reserve and Zanzibar Island. Today Mafia is known as
a beautiful Indian Ocean tropical resort that is famous for deep
sea fishing and scuba diving. Aquatic life is abundant and the
coral gardens are pristine due to the protection of the Mafia
Island Marine Park. At 394km² it is the largest of a small
archipelago of islands, and is as close as you can get to the
quintessential ideal of an Indian Ocean tropical paradise.
The Island is unique and perfect destination as part of a safari
package or simply a place to unwind and get away from the daily,
modern and busy world. Click here for Mafia Island Hotels
